Hi,

Can I check a company if a can claim the expense and the vat back on legal fees incurred prior to VAT registration for a leasehold purchase?

In principle, VAT incurred prior to registration can be recovered under reg 111. HMRC Notice 700 chapter 11 refers to this.

Agree.

But as the expense is not a tax deductible expense, i just wanted to check you can still claim the VAT even though it isnt allowable?
