Vat on Sponsorship

Postby Yiannis17 » Thu Aug 08, 2019 3:16 pm

Afternoon

I appreciate that there is normally Vat on sponsorship even though in this case the client states that the sponsor will not get anything out of it except for business exposure.

if the event is happening in the UK and the sponsors are based overseas, will vat still be chargeable?

Thank you

With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA

The supplier may be able to use Reverse Charge wording on his invoice. This will mean he does not need to account for VAT. But will need some detailed advice to confirm it is appropriate.
