If you reported someone for not declaring any of your income HMRC for the last 8 years how long will it take for HMRC to contact them?

Information such as this is acted upon but research will be undertaken first - that may take some time. You do not give any indication of the amount of tax at stake as this can have a bearing on how quickly the case is looked at ... The case would be allocated to an investigator and dependent upon that persons priorities/workload/forward planning etc .....

How long is a piece of string?

Do you mean not operating PAYE on salary paid to you?

This is the third post in a similar vein in the last couple of days.

As others have been told your report will certainly be reviewed by HMRC, but the chances of your ever getting to know what if anything happened are negligible. Unless i suppose you do mean not operating PAYE on your salary so that it might have an effect on your liability
