Has any research been conducted into whether a higher percentage of tax investigations are being initiated from returns submitted electronically as opposed to those submitted by traditional means?

When deciding on whether to carry out an investigation, I understand the Revenue 'risk score' returns from electronic data following the processing of a Tax Return.

In short therefore, it makes no difference how the return is submitted, either electronically or by paper return.
