Book Value After Consolidation and Return of Capital

Postby royed31 » Sat May 28, 2022 6:34 pm

Hello

Wanted some guidance on Book Value after a return of cap and consolidation of a holding

I hold Aviva which I made a number of buys and Sells before the recent Consolidation and return of capital

Before the consolidation and ROC the book value was £7935.64 with 1955 shares

Then the consolidation left me with 1486 share and a ROC of £1988.04

An adjustment was made on the portfolio of the number of shares but now shows a loss of IRO of £2000

So my query is should there also be an adjustment made to the book cost to reflect the ROC ?

In my head the new book value would be £7935.64 minus the ROC of £1988.04 = £5,947.60

Is that the correct way of should it be done another way or not at all ?

Cheers

Roy
