State Pension for Spouse

Postby rsaunders19 » Sun Jul 02, 2023 2:25 pm

Does anyone know at which point would ones spouse get if any her husbands state pension should he pass away .
I would start receiving my full state pension in 2027.
Spouse would not be at qualifying state pension age for a considerable time .
I would reach state pension age 2027.

just need to know what my partner would get as its not clear on HMRC site if she would get anything ?
My partner has paid in about 12 years in NI contributions to date.

Thanks for any information

I'm not a pensions expert by any means but I don't think there is any state widows pension that pays out on the death of a husband drawing a pension.

Once your widow qualified for retirement herself, she may be able to get an uplift on her own state pension for being a widow.
