citizenship?

Postby piper777 » Sun Apr 28, 2024 3:56 pm

Hi there if someone could clarify. I am trying to open additional savings accounts for myself and husband. Since Brexit when applying i notice that some banks ask if he has uk Citizenship.( not Nationality) . My husband has an Italian passport but has lived in uk for over 70 years. He does pay tax in Italy as well as in uk but is uk resident for tax purposes. Does this mean his citizenship is UK ??

thanks for any help offered

Not unless he has applied for citizenship.
