Establishing a global online business

Postby mitchellwilliam912 » Wed Nov 15, 2023 5:15 pm

I am currently in the process of establishing a global online business focused on selling print-on-demand products. My sales channels include platforms such as Etsy and Shopify, where I serve as an intermediary.

The products I offer, specifically jewelry and metal art, are manufactured in the USA. Despite being a UK resident and taxpayer, I have registered my business in the UK.

I have a few questions regarding the tax implications of this setup. If my registered business in the UK sells products manufactured in the USA to customers in the USA, what are the associated tax considerations? Additionally, I am curious about the tax implications for customers in the EU and the UK.

Do I need an EIRO or its equivalent for transactions involving the USA? I am particularly concerned about ensuring accurate pricing for my products and avoiding any unexpected additional charges or tax bills for customers upon receiving their orders.

Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
