Claim relief for working from home due to Covid

Postby jtufty » Sun Dec 27, 2020 2:10 pm

Hi,

I work full time for an employer, and I work freelance in my spare time.

I already claim an allowance on my self assessment for working from home. But now - because my employer requires me to work from home fulltime because of Covid - can I make an additional claim on top?

Thanks

If you are claiming the simplified flat rate expenses, then there is no harm in claiming both.

Great, thanks for confirming that. I thought that may be the case. I dont actually think it will cover the actual costs involved in working from home 24/7, but it will contribute.
