Does anyone have any views on the good and bad points of having a company as a partner? I understand that this structure could offer the flexibilty to shelter profits without the need to incorporate fully.

Any comments are welcome.

I'd strongly recommend taking advice before pursuing this route. From memory, partnership confers responsibility for your partner's debts (for example) and ou increase cost of accountancy fees etc.

What are the benefits you are seeking?
