HMRC not processing forms 64-8 on a timely basis

Postby etf » Tue Jan 02, 2024 2:08 pm

Submitted forms 64-8 to HMRC on 31 Oct, 10 Nov and two on 29 Nov. None of them have yet been actioned and so I've created another echo chamber.

With the Government announcing they've caught up with their asylum backlog I'm wondering whether they used staff from HMRC's 64-8 department?

HMRC cannot process anything on a timely basis.

Eg. we notified them of a charge to tax in March 2020. They have written back just last month with the amount payable.... claiming to be charging interest through to date of payment too!!! (Good luck to them)

If HMRC were a football club Sir Jim wouldn't have lasted as long as Wayne Rooney at Birmingham (not long) and the Department would have been docked 99 points for overspends under the FFP rules.

I think the regulators are partly at fault because statistics are published that I just don't recognise and they seem to go largely unchallenged ....viz why haven't three of my four 64-8s been processed in 15 workdays?

Get Toby Jones and Co on the case and I'm sure things could be rectified.

Two of the four 64-8s were processed this week, but perversely they were the two submitted at the end of November. The one submitted at the end of October and the other submitted in the middle of November have not yet been dealt with.

Still waiting on the two 64-8s to be processed.
