A1 application problem

Postby Kajutka26 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 2:04 pm

Dear TaxationWeb Colleagues,
we have a client for whom we applied for the A1 document.
Finally HMRC refused to issue A1 due to concerns about his residential status.
Client requested full refund of amount paid to us i.e. 150 because he wasnt able to work from February this year.
He usually works 70h per week and earn 17 per hour and he is going to apply for compensation which is about 9,000
We offered him 75f of refund due to other 75f we need to keep to cover costs incurred.
Is that any risk on our side ?
Does he have reasonable grounds to apply for compensation ?

What was the basis you applied for an A1 on the client's behalf?

Does he have reasonable grounds to apply for compensation ?
That depends on whether you were negligent or not. Speak with your insurers.
