I own 50% of four propoerties with my husband. We wantt o divorce and swop our properties so we will own 100% of 2. Do we have to pay CGT on the 2 we swop?

Aslo, is there an CGT allowance for rental properties when sold?

Many thanks, Jenna

You are still married so interspousal transfers are free of CGT. I fyou are claiming Letting relief on any of these properties becuase you used to live there or you both did, beare of the effect of which houses becomes yours. The allowance is presently £8,800 per owner. Regards Peter
