I've been receiving rental income from my flat for 10 years having lived in it only the first 2 (I bought it to live in it 12 years ago). During the 10 years I've been living as a tenant myself.
I now want to sell but i am worried that it will be uneconomical to sell in order to buy my own home once CGT is paid to HMRC.
I hear that CGT can be minimised if i live in the property as my principle home 18 months before selling it, is this true?
