Gifting to charity

Postby davidadams50 » Thu Dec 05, 2019 5:14 pm

I am considering gifting a share holding to a charity. If the value of the holding is say £100,000 against a cost of £10,000, does the cost reduce to £5,000 if I gift half the holding to charity?

But don't forget gifts to charities are exempt from CGT.

With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
