Unrealised gains

Postby kanrent » Mon Sep 07, 2020 8:32 am

Hi I'm a non resident British citezen
I became liable for CGT as from 2015 if I sell my only rented property.
When I die and leave that property to my daughter (who is a non resident British citezen not UK domicile) will she have to pay CGT occurred from 2015 to the inherited date if she sells the property after probate

No. Daughter acquires property at its market value at date of your death.

Daughter then liable only re capital gain between date of death and date of sale.
