UK Non Resident Expat Shares CGT

Postby Expat1 » Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:49 pm

Hi,
Ive been a non resident in the UK since 2014 (except majority of 2020/21 tax year because i was looking after elderly family because of Covid). I have shares i'd like to sell and reset my capital gains on. Can i do this just now with the years ive been non resident as it's looking likely i'll be UK resident in the 2022/23 tax year as it stands and beyond. However 2021/22 tax year i'll be non resident. I would like to sell the shares to re baseline the CGT and repurchase again at the earliest point?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks and stay safe!
