CGT with one lodger couple

Postby LAURAC » Thu Jun 16, 2022 10:08 am

I have read numerous articles ans posts about the implications of letting out more than one room the lodgers and how that could result in a CGT payment on your main residence. If you rent out one room to a couple (as lodgers, you also still live in the property) does that mean you mean you are operating a letting business and therefore liable for CGT?

Do they share the living space with you?

With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
