cgt as executor

Postby katmat » Fri Aug 12, 2022 9:07 am

Hi
Mother died Nov 2020, probate granted May 21, house sold July 22
House sold by executors (not transferred into 4 beneficaries names) - but that another story !
I am aware executors need to pay CGT - probate vale £315K, sold £375K
Can the executor deduct the solicitor/estate agent fees (approx £10K) from chargeable gain before calculating CGT

Thanks

Yes. Incidental costs of disposal are allowable.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
