Work completed on rental property, prior to BTL rental period

Postby Litchy1986 » Thu Dec 26, 2024 2:20 pm

Hi all,

Question:

Prior to turning it into a buy to let, I have had a lot of work done to the property in the form of a loft conversion.

This has obviously changed the value of the house significantly, and so it stands to reason that this is taken into account when determining the capital gains on the property (sale price minus purchase price).

Is this the case?

Many thanks!
