If someone who is trading in his own name, sets up a company but does not set up a bank account in the company name and continues to make all receipts and Payments only using his personal bank account, does this mean the company has not been trading and he is still trading just in his own name? .

The relevant point is who is buying and selling the goods/services and not who is paying for it.

If the sole trader continues to buy and sell services/goods as he did before, ie in his own name, then it appears that his sole trade has continued as before and the company appears to have remained dormant.
