What would the basis periods be for 2 consecutive short accounting periods be? eg 9months to 30 Nov & 8 months to 31 July

How long has the business been going & what is the reason for the two odd periods?

its been going for 12 years, co was acquired on 1 dec and wants to make up accounts to same yr end, 31 july
