Will they or won’t they.... late filing.

Dear all

Some advice please. If a company has failed to file a CT return for ye 30 November 2015 and 2016 ( no notice to deliver and no determinations) will HMRC now reject any attempt to file and bring matters up to date as the 2 year window for amendment has been and gone - though how can you amend something you never filed in the first place ?

I believe there may be profits for the first period but losses for the second and then profits for 2017 (2017 filing also late).

If HMRC do not accept filings, does that mean the company would not be taxable/would loose out on losses to carry forward as applicable?

You need to file.

Have you notified HMRC that your company is active?

No, nothing has been advised. I guess large penalties but better to get things up to date if possible. Can this be done or can HMRC refuse submissions ?

HMRC will not reject them, though do it quickly. If HMRC assess and you go past four years you won't be able to displace HMRC's assessment.
