Filing Filing First CT600

Postby vorabj » Mon Sep 26, 2022 6:14 pm

I need to file my own CT600 for the first time and use the HMRC service and need some advice please.

Co was incorporated on 8.8.2019 and have already filed the following with the Co's House using their online service:
dormant accounts for the period to 31.8.20 (Balance Sheet only)
second set for the year to 31.8.21 (again Balance Sheet only) - company started trading on 15.3.21

Now I want to file my CT600 using HMRC filing service
Q. Do I have to file CT600 for the dormant periods
8.8.2019 to 7.8.20 and
8.8.20 to 15.3.21

Please can someone explain the easiest way i can deal with it as these opening periods are a pain for me.
All advice appreciated in advance

Many thanks

Hi

Your company existed for CT purposes on 16 March 2021

You can only file CT return for a 12-month period or less.

So, suggest first return 16 March to 31st March.

Then annually to 31st March thereafter.

Email dennis@taxesclear.co.uk

Or call 07802704840

Why 31 March when he has prepared accounts to 31 August?

The first accounting period begins on 16 March 2021 and ends on 31 August 2021. The first CT return is for this period.

You are late and will incur penalties. Get an accountant or you will incur more.
