You may not have one; not everyone does. If you think you should have one (self employed or need to complete a self assessment form for some other reason, just contact any tax office (or the helpline), quote them your NI number and ask them.

If you are in the Self Assessment system (i.e. you are completing tax returns) then the UTR is the ten digit reference number shown on the tax return itself, self assessment statements of account and most other correspondence from the Revenue.
