Company CAR

I contribute £268 annually toward my company car which is deducted via Paye

Im currently doing my self assessment. Am I entitled to claim tax relief on this payment? If so, which part of the SA form do I complete to do this?

Thanks
Davil

As an employee, if you make contributions towards the private use of a company car, this can be used to reduce the taxable benefit that arises - see ITEPA 2003 s144

It's highly likely that your HR has already considered this when working out what your car benefit was.

So first step would be to confirm with HR how the benefit was calculated. If it wasn't taken into consideration then yes, you can some relief against the amount that was declared as a taxable benefit.
