Cost of IHT tax advice

I am obtaining quotes for professional tax advice on IHT mitigation.
Estate is worth around 550k and once of the questions I have for the advisor is to look at the domicile
of the estate owners. The estate has a mirror will in place and two children>

I am being quoted figures higher than 1k for written advice, do you think this is reasonable?

Very reasonable. You are looking for bespoke advice upon which you will be entitled to rely.

On the other hand, a joint estate worth £550K probably wont have any liability so why are you bothering?
