Cannot Pay Taxes

Postby kuanyin123 » Wed Mar 24, 2021 3:07 pm

I shall make this brief and to the point. I lost my job back in December 2019 and haven't worked since. I have just turned 69 years and throughout last year and right up until the present day I have had to survive on my savings and State pension. I have received two letters in the past five days from the HMRC about unpaid tax for 2019 (approx. £5,000). The fact is I cannot pay this money. Any advice regarding my predicament would be helpful. I can only imagine there shall be 1,000s of Brits caught up in the same predicament!
