Taxes

Postby FerPinto » Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:34 pm

Hi.
I live and work in England since 2009.
I work as factory worker in the same company since 2009.
I receive my payslip every Friday.
I pay about £60 tax weekly.
I want to return to my country ( Portugal) and I want to know if I can get the tax money that I pay all this years back, how many years can I get ( some people say 4 years , some say 5 years of tax ), how can I start this process and how long is going to go?
Thanks in advance for your help and understanding.
Best regards

Income tax is paid by residents on earnings. Once you leave UK you will no longer pay UK tax. The tax you have paid is not refundable, subject to a calculation of your last year where you may pay too much tax before you leave.
