Non-UK resident, FIG, Visa for freelancer

Postby mariav00 » Tue Jul 22, 2025 9:42 am

Good morning,

I'm Spanish and, although I spend a few months a year in the UK with my partner with a tourist visa, I've never lived here officially.
I'm a freelance graphic designer and work for a non-British company, so all my income comes from outside.

I've researched the new FIG regime and would like to receive some advice on this.
As far as I know, there is no visa for freelancers in the UK, so my only option to stay in the UK, become a TAX resident and work as a freelancer would be a "Partner Visa". Is that right?
If there is any other option, I would really appreciate your comments and advice.

Thank you in advance. Have a nice day,

Maria

The UK tax and immigration regimes are entirely separate and that is an immigration, rather than a tax, question.

I'd be surprised if anybody here could help you with questions regarding visas. You need to speak to an immigration adviser for that.

Thank you, I'll do that.
