Hi,

I have a question.

If I am leaving the country (UK) can I claim all my tax back or not?

Thank you for your advice.

If you leave the country permanently and so become non-resident, you will cease to pay UK tax on most sources of income from that date, but are still liable for tax up to that date. If you have been paying tax under PAYE you will probably be due a repayment (because of unused personal allowances) but not by any means all the tax you have paid.

Just to expand a liitle on the previous comment. If you continue to have a source of income in the UK after you leave this, in general terms will remain subject to UK tax unless it is relieved under a double taxation treaty. You will, as a British citizen, continue to be able to claim UK personal tax allowances to set against UK income whilst you remain not resident.
