What form can a non-working taxpayer use to reclaim overpaid tax (ie on interest) and where should such a form be sent if the taxpayer is not aware which HMRC office deals with his tax affairs?

Clearly a tax return could be used but if the individual is not issued with a tax return it seems excess and the individual is not issued with a short form return.

The appropriate form is an R40 and should be returned to the repayment claim office at Leics & Northants Area, Saxon House, Causeway Lane, Leicester.
