Dear Cliff Top Charlie,
Currently you cannot hold residential property within a SIPP.

The good news is that Finance Act 2004 will change this (and many other aspects of pensions!). At the moment this will be with effect from April 2006 (However, word on the street is suggesting this may be delayed again to Apr 2007 – It was originally Apr 2005 so fingers crossed)

This will shelter rental income from income tax and the eventual disposal of property from CGT.

Hope this helps!
