Bed & Breakfast - Wear & Tear Allowance?

Postby Lsp54 » Thu Jun 12, 2014 11:27 am

Hi,
I've looked everywhere for this. For a B & B business can you claim the 10% wear & tear allowance to cover beds, linen, guest furniture etc? Or do you have to go the capital allowances route?

(I'm only asking because childminders can claim wear & tear allowance)

Many thanks.

Hello,
Yes, you have to claim capital allowances.
The child minders wear and tear allowance is given because of an agreement reached between HMRC and the professional association for child minders. There is no equivalent for B&Bs.
