Charitable Donations - Reclaim Tax

Postby erictheone » Wed Mar 01, 2017 10:36 pm

Any kind expert who can help me with probably a very basic question, which I can't find an answer to on the HMRC website:

If I donate to a registered charity in the U.K., can they reclaim basic rate tax if the only taxable income I have in the relevant tax year is bank interest received and dividend income?

Or must the offset only be against earned / employment income?

Thanks.

The offset is against tax. Source of income doesn't matter.
With a pinch of salt take what I say, but don't exceed your RDA
