Xmas Party

Postby Dave-A » Wed Nov 01, 2017 3:34 pm

A colleague has suggested I can pay each member of staff £20 towards an Xmas party (as long as everyone is involved and has the opportunity to attend one).

Has anyone heard of this?

Also, if it could be treated as a trivial benefit, should I take into account other trivial benefits that may have been provided? Is there a limit on the number of trivial benefits that can be paid?

Many thanks,

Dave

Hello Dave

There is an exemption that should cover this providing its money spent on an annual function and is not "cash in their pocket" to do with what they please - note there is an annual limit so you need to be careful if you have other annual function type events. seems a shame to not fully max out this available exemption if your employees are hard working :)
