Childrens tax

Postby cliff99 » Sun Mar 10, 2019 5:21 pm

We are contemplating buying a property for our two sons who are 16 and 11 respectively. The plan would be that it is rented out by the children and the rental income they receive would help to cover their present school fees and ultimately their university fees.
However we are aware that money provided by parents and invested by their children for interest, generates a tax liability on the parents until the children are 18. Would the same tax liability for the parents also apply to rental income received by their children?
