HMRC replying to letters

Postby Alan Worcester » Sun Jul 21, 2019 8:48 am

I wrote to HMRC on 29th April because they had quoted wrong amounts of savings interest for tax year 2018 but have had no reply.
Is this long time usual?
Should I complain? If so, to whom should I complain to?

Hi, you can use the HMRC "where's my reply?" tool.

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/tools/progress-tool/calculator2.htm?selecReason=1&reason=Income+Tax&methodx=To+make+a+general+tax+enquiry

It looks like you should have had a reply a month ago!

Good luck,

Jerome
