Shares in US company

Postby hodgsoi » Fri Nov 08, 2019 2:37 am

I've just started work for a US based company and part of my remuneration is being awarded shares based on a percentage of my salary. These shares are awarded on an annual basis. I have completed a W8 ben form which will allow my employer to withhold some shares in lieu of tax as part of both country's reciprocal agreement. Do I need to declare these shares on my tax return as they are effectively taxed at source in the US?
