Agent Authorisation

Postby emmabrannigan » Thu May 06, 2021 11:18 am

If I was to authorise an agent to work on my behalf for a couple of claims i'm wanting to make, what information do they have access to online? Do they see all of my previous employers and how much I earned per tax year, tax deducted etc? Or is it more basic information they can see?

An agent without access to your income information would be useless in almost every situation.

Common info would be employment info including pay and tax, tax codes, debts/overpayments, anything to do with tax returns.

Is there something you don't wish for them to see?

thanks for replying - no there's nothing that needs to be hidden i was just more curious as to what amount of information they can actually see about me and my circumstances like tax codes etc.

You're welcome.

Agent authority is a two-way process as it allows agents to provide HMRC with info on your part also.
