Tax & money moving from UK to ireland

Postby Confused MO » Thu May 06, 2021 10:27 pm

I am retired and currently in the process of selling my property and then move to Ireland. I have Irish passport through my parents. I understand that I should join Irish tax system when resident for 183 days. Is it at that point I send the P85 form to HMRC or as soon as I leave the UK. If I am allowed another question is it best to leave the proceeds of the sale in the UK while I sort out other bank accounts or immediately transfer the lot. I don't the advantages of leaving it or moving it.
