SEISS covid help

Postby steve45 » Wed Dec 22, 2021 5:54 pm

I have a small business and received both SEISS assistance and also a grant of £10K from my Local Authority. I understand that both these sources of help are taxable.
However when looking at turnover eligibility for the SEISS help is the Local Authority grant taken into account when arriving at your the turnover figure
If anyone could clarify it would be most appreciated

See:

"What not to include

Anything reported as any other income on your tax return. You should also not include any coronavirus (COVID-19) support payments, for example:

previous SEISS grants
Eat Out to Help Out payments
local authority or devolved administration grants"

Thank you for that advice.
I think ive messed up and included the Local authority grant as an addition to the Turnover on my Return and HMRC are now saying I was not eligible for the SEISS payments made to me.
Presumably I should have included the grant as Other Income.
Probably proves the point about getting professional advice in the first place!
