AIA on short term business

Postby LunanBear » Sun Jan 02, 2022 9:19 pm

My step daughter is a hairdresser, and in 2020 converted her spare bedroom into a salon.

She only ran the hairdressing business from her house for about 8 months, and has stopped it, having changed career.

Given the short nature of the business, is she entitled to claim all the conversion costs into a salon on her 2020/21 tax return?

As a cessation of business, is she entitled to claim any of the costs of reinstating the room to a bedroom?
