Do NRIs need to disclose directorship while IT filing?

Postby jagan » Wed Jun 19, 2024 2:31 pm

I am a Indian and living in the UK on work visa. I am filing tax returns first time in India to declare my NRO account savings.
I came across a question about 'Are you director for any companies' . I am company director for a UK company and it's UK based business company and no funding/investments from India.
My question is : Do I need to disclose this information in India tax filing?
Please can you advise me,
Many thanks

I doubt you are going to find any Indian advisers on this forum, which is almost only UK (with a sprinkling of US advisers of note).

I know little about Indian tax, but I do know a little about forms.

If a question asks “Are you a director?”, and I am indeed a director, then the question should be answered in the affirmative.
