Landlord accounts and employing my son

Postby Jupiter01 » Tue May 12, 2026 4:15 pm

I am employed (paye) and a part time landlord. At the end of each tax year, I declare my rental income for the two BTLs I own and settle whatever tax is due.
My son has now turned 16 and I would like to pay him to assist with some of the admin associated with my properties. Is this an option for me given that I am not a LTD company? I wasn't sure how I do the whole employment and NI necessities.

I would welcome your thoughts on this.
