Leaving Work to go back to Uni

Postby robmccormick93 » Sun Aug 09, 2026 9:51 pm

Hi All

I'm currently doing a placement at a Hospital and earn £25,272 a year. However, my placement ends at the end of this month (24th). I wanted to know, since I'm part of the 1257L tax code, would i be entitled to a rebate if i don't work again this tax year (i won't be working as too much uni work to do). How would I work out how much, if anything Im owed? To date, ive paid £736 in tax and get taxed £184 each month. I get the august monthly pay and that's the last one.
I started getting taxed in March, just before the new tax year started

Thanks in advance

Rob
