I have a contract in saudi arabia from 1/7/07 to 30/6/09 with 84 days holiday in the uk, 21 days at xmas and july,
eg year end 5-4-08 uk 107 days, arabia 257
5-4-09 uk 42 days, arabia 322
5-4-10 uk 279 days, arabia 86
Am I resident in the uk or not for tax?

Hi
Split year treatment and the fact that your out of the UK for at least 1 tax year makes y/e 5.4.08 & 5.4.09 non resident and you become UK resident again from 1.7.09 when you arrive back in the UK.
Make sure you complete forms P85 & P86.
