Transferring money to US (for house purchase)

Postby jdaniels1973 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 1:17 pm

Hi,

I am wondering what the tax implications are (if any :) ) with moving money from my UK bank account to the US. I am looking to move too the US with my American wife, get an immigration visa and buy a house there. Can anyone enlighten? The amount would be between £25000 and £35000 approx.

Thanks,
Jonathan

No UK tax issues from simply moving money from UK to USA.

Your wife is hopefully already filing FBARs. Aside from that no issues.
