My husband and I are moving to Switzerland in a few months. He will be working full-time and on a permanent contract, however I won't be initially. We had considered keeping up our NI contributions, but from the HMRC website, I understand we may not need to do that as there are reciprocal agreements in place? Is that the case? However if I will not be working, would it be worthwhile for me to keep them up anyway?
In addition, I undertake some work from home on a self employed basis which I will be continuing with and would like to continue to be paid in the UK. I fill out a self assessment tax return each year so will continue to do this. How is the tax worked out for this? Also if we rent our property, can I declare this on my tax return, or do we both need to do this as it's in joint names?
Apologies for the various questions!
Thanks in anticipation
