company in Ireland while living in UK

Postby xargon » Fri Sep 08, 2017 2:13 pm

I currently have a limited company in UK and a few clients that I do work for. I am paying my corporation tax and personal taxes here in the UK for any earnings through this company.

I would also like to have a company in Ireland and I have a client in the UK who is willing to conduct business through this Irish company. I do not plan to move any money from Ireland to UK and there is no plan to move the money from the company right now. So the company will invoice and the money will just stay in the company bank account for the foreseeable future. I might move back to mainland Europe after Brexit and I will decide then.

My question is do I need to do any declaration or pay something in the UK for the earnings of the Irish company?

If there is a permanent establishment in the UK for the Irish company then likely yes.

Thanks for your reply. What do you mean by permanent establishment? The director of the company (would be me) lives in the UK, yes.
